Vacation is over and back to work is in full swing; starting TOMORROW!

I am back from a weeks vacation.   I went with 15 other family members on the MSC Poesia (cruise ship) to the Caribbean.

I have TONS of orders and messages to catch up on, but promised I would be better with my blogging.

So here we go, a little info about our trip:

The ship:  MSC Poesia (Italian cruise line) http://www.msccruises.com/gl_en/Ships/MSC-Poesia.aspx

Ports:   St. Thomas,  Nassau Bahamas and San Juan.

We went on an excursion (that was worth EVERY penny) with the The Silent Lady Schooner Tours.   The crew of three was beyond fabulous and really knew how to show everyone a great time.   The two that we spoke with were very knowledgeable about the island, and helped guide us to locations for shopping & eating.   The boat ride was approx 30 minutes to &  from our destination (Turtle Cove) and once we arrived we listened to the crew give a brief life saving safety lessons and then we all jumped off the boat into the water to snorkel with the sea turtles for about an hour. (my 10 year old daughter did great)  We also saw tons of other sea creatures including reef squids and sting rays and fire coral - Again, this was worth EVERY penny!   After the hour of snorkeling we were headed back on the ship and were served UNLIMITED rum punch that was made on board (or soda if you'd prefer)  ***Caution, RUM will kick your butt if you get greedy, so a cup or two MAX PEOPLE!     If your ship doesn't offer this excursion, book it yourself!     Here is the link to their facebook page:       https://www.facebook.com/pages/Silent-Lady-Schooner-Tours/121916957850423?sk=wall

We also spent time at San Juan where we took an unguided historical tour of the city.    I think we paid $3.00 per adult to visit the San Juan National Historic Park (Fort) More info can be found here:   http://www.nationalparks.org/discover-parks/index.cfm?fa=viewPark&pid=SAJU
This was also a highlight of our trip.   **This is NOT a place to wear flip flops to.  LOTS of stair climbing.

The last thing we did on this trip was go to visit Nassau Bahamas.   Since we were just here 3 months prior, we knew to visit the STRAW  MARKET (vendor flea market- Visit 3 booths and you've seen just about everything, they all seem to offer the same things)   We also paid to use the beach at the Hilton which was right near the ship (walking distance from the ships)  The food was good, drinks were even better and the use of the beach and pool made it perfect for our party of 16!  *Perk: Dunkin' Donuts was across the street from the hotel.   ***Also, a McDonalds is next store too, so if you wanted to save money you could just use the beach and eat at McDonalds if that's what your kids like.

I've included a few photos.   If you've never been on a cruise, BOOK ONE!   We went on a cruise 3 months prior to the same ports of call on the Norwegian Sun (personally we didn't like this ship at all)

I hope you enjoyed this entry.  I know its a bit different then what I typically do, but thought it would be fun to share my trip highlights.
