Tangled Banner

I just put together a banner for a TANGLED themed girls birthday party!

It's simple, yet adorable!   Did you see the movie?  If not, you should put it on your netflix list.    It's really cute.

Here are a few photos!

Enjoy!

Vacation is over and back to work is in full swing; starting TOMORROW!

I am back from a weeks vacation.   I went with 15 other family members on the MSC Poesia (cruise ship) to the Caribbean.

I have TONS of orders and messages to catch up on, but promised I would be better with my blogging.

So here we go, a little info about our trip:

The ship:  MSC Poesia (Italian cruise line) http://www.msccruises.com/gl_en/Ships/MSC-Poesia.aspx

Ports:   St. Thomas,  Nassau Bahamas and San Juan.

We went on an excursion (that was worth EVERY penny) with the The Silent Lady Schooner Tours.   The crew of three was beyond fabulous and really knew how to show everyone a great time.   The two that we spoke with were very knowledgeable about the island, and helped guide us to locations for shopping & eating.   The boat ride was approx 30 minutes to &  from our destination (Turtle Cove) and once we arrived we listened to the crew give a brief life saving safety lessons and then we all jumped off the boat into the water to snorkel with the sea turtles for about an hour. (my 10 year old daughter did great)  We also saw tons of other sea creatures including reef squids and sting rays and fire coral - Again, this was worth EVERY penny!   After the hour of snorkeling we were headed back on the ship and were served UNLIMITED rum punch that was made on board (or soda if you'd prefer)  ***Caution, RUM will kick your butt if you get greedy, so a cup or two MAX PEOPLE!     If your ship doesn't offer this excursion, book it yourself!     Here is the link to their facebook page:       https://www.facebook.com/pages/Silent-Lady-Schooner-Tours/121916957850423?sk=wall

We also spent time at San Juan where we took an unguided historical tour of the city.    I think we paid $3.00 per adult to visit the San Juan National Historic Park (Fort) More info can be found here:   http://www.nationalparks.org/discover-parks/index.cfm?fa=viewPark&pid=SAJU
This was also a highlight of our trip.   **This is NOT a place to wear flip flops to.  LOTS of stair climbing.

The last thing we did on this trip was go to visit Nassau Bahamas.   Since we were just here 3 months prior, we knew to visit the STRAW  MARKET (vendor flea market- Visit 3 booths and you've seen just about everything, they all seem to offer the same things)   We also paid to use the beach at the Hilton which was right near the ship (walking distance from the ships)  The food was good, drinks were even better and the use of the beach and pool made it perfect for our party of 16!  *Perk: Dunkin' Donuts was across the street from the hotel.   ***Also, a McDonalds is next store too, so if you wanted to save money you could just use the beach and eat at McDonalds if that's what your kids like.

I've included a few photos.   If you've never been on a cruise, BOOK ONE!   We went on a cruise 3 months prior to the same ports of call on the Norwegian Sun (personally we didn't like this ship at all)

I hope you enjoyed this entry.  I know its a bit different then what I typically do, but thought it would be fun to share my trip highlights.

I was featured in COSMO BRIDE magazine!

If you didn't already know, I was recently featured in the 2012 COSMOPOLITAN BRIDE magazine!!   Here is the magazine cover, and the page that I was featured on.   (My banner is hanging at the very top of the page) and if you look at the donut cake, one of my cupcake toppers was used for a cake topper.

Enjoy!

DIY Valentines Day Gift - 52 things I love about you!

I saw this on PINTERST and had to make my own!   Sooo cute!

To make one, all you need is the following:
  • deck of cards (new or used, just be sure you have 52 cards)
  • 52 reasons why you love your man! (or anyone)  Jot them down ahead of time, it will help.
  • stickers (not necessary, I just used them to dress mine up some)
  • a printer to print your reasons (or you could hand write them on paper)
  • glue or tape to attach your reasons to the cards - keep in mind the SIZE of the card - you don't have a ton of room.
  • ribbon to tie it together.
  • a hole puncher

Below are a few pictures from the one I put together.    Instead of a Valentines Day card my sweetie will get a deck of cards with 52 reasons why I love him!

Have fun with this - I sure did.    I was stumped for a few minutes when I got into the 40's but then just dug deeper and focused on what it was that I really loved about him - it can be silly or goofy - make it original and your own.       Happy Valentines Day!

4th of July Banner

This is a 4th of July banner that I created using my Cricut Expression and the following cartridges.

1.) Mini Monograms
2.) Plantin Schoolbook
3.) Calligraphy Collection.

As you can see from the photo, I only used red, white and blue cardstock.   It's simple but very sweet.    I finished it off by hole punching the cutouts and stringing it together on ribbon.

ENJOY!
