Bloggers Galore!

Friday was on FIRE!!

My Friday night was on FIRE!     I was feeling a little down this week because I didn't receive any new orders on my site in 5 days.   **which is VERY uncommon, I typically get 1-2 sales a week, Tuesdays and then the weekend seem to be the best sale days for me.

I was randomly checking my site before I was heading outside to enjoy a bonfire with my lovely neighbors and ~* BOOM ~* ! 2 NEW SALES!!!   As you can imagine I was thrilled!   I made last minute touches on the OWL order and then put together the items for the ladybug package, a photo banner, cupcake toppers and a high chair banner.   These items were delivered to the local post office early this morning and are currently in route to Australia and Texas.   I love that I've gone International! I love Australia customers, so far I've had 2.

The power is within the OWL

Late lastnight after I watched Lauren Alaina and Haley Reinhart sing their hearts out on American Idol I received a private convo through my website www.etsy.com/shop/sarahjhanifan from a woman requesting 3 custom owl banners for her twins 1st birthday!    Funny, because I recently had a dream of twins which I thought was odd.   Anyway, if this order comes through it will be my largest sale yet!   It can only get bigger right?!   The power is within the owl!

I've been tracking my sales since I've opened my shop and I am only $18 shy of hitting what I brought in last month.   I've had a total of 18 sales since March 27!   Think I can do it?

Tonight's to do's:   Help my 3rd grade daughter with her science fair project - The solar system; Watch American Idol and see who makes it in the final 2 (Come on Haley & Lauren) and finish up 2 orders.

2 things on my mind today

It's hard to start something and not have full control over the outcome. Don't you think?

I believe I'm doing everything right to promote my business on ETSY.   I provide fabulous customer service, I spend way to much time on twitter & facebook promoting, I've ordered business cards and have even offered to give away an item for it to be "tested" and reviewed and have entered "treasuries".

I think I might have to hit the streets and do a little face to face marketing - door to door maybe?! haha can you imagine that, someone knocking on your door "Hi, My names Sarah and I'd like to tell you about my banners"   It would be a change! Might even work, but I doubt it. I think craft fairs are in order.

As I sit here and worry about promotions of my etsy business, I can't help but to think about the headliner that I read on AOL this morning "Former California Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger has acknowledged that he fathered a child with a member of his household staff." - AOL    I'm pretty sure I saw TMZ tweet something about them knowing that 6 days ago.     Makes me sad. Another family is falling apart.  With that being said, I think I will create a "Family" banner today as a statement of how important family values are.   I'll post a picture later.

Welcome

Welcome to the blog of Creative Banners & Cupcake Toppers!

Have you ever heard the quote "To love what you do and feel that it matters -- how could anything be more fun" - Katherine Graham. Well for 2 months now I've been living it!   I LOVE making banners and knowing that someone else around the world is enjoying it!   (yes I said world, I sold a banner to someone in Australia, how fabulous!?!?)

I 've always been into crafting! I've made a ton of scrapbooks, quilled, made cards, painted with acrylic on canvas and have dabbled into photography!   I love to create can you tell?!

Within this blog I will share my journey of crafting and launching my own business!
